Rates

Residents may not SMOKE or VAPE anywhere, anytime.

Residents may not drink alcoholic beverages anywhere, anytime.

Residents may not take any drugs other than prescribed medication.

No adults or non-residents are allowed upstairs.  Maintenance workers will only ever be upstairs when accompanied by the House Manager or Nancy. 

Residents are expected to DRESS and ACT respectfully in the house and in public.  Excessive foul language, obscenity, bigotry, bullying in written(text) or spoken word is unacceptable.  PDA’s (including hickeys), littering, and other bad choices not listed here will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Threats to others or threats of self harm (written, spoken, or posted on social media) will be treated with immediate concern and intervention.

All residents (dancers and adults) will be treated with respectful communication and  heated conversations will not rise to the level of yelling.

Curfew is 10pm Sun-Fri, 12am midnight Saturday *exceptions by PARENTS ONLY

Residents need to be in their respective rooms by midnight every night. Lights out in common spaces including bathrooms for showering or laundry.

Quiet hours are 10pm - 7am.  Computers and music  must have earbuds, or headphones including music played in single bedrooms.  Telephone and facetime calls must be ended.  No exercising/dancing/jumping or rolling chairs around.  Conversations in shared bedrooms must be consensual and at a whispered volume. 

Ballet Boarding House is for residents ONLY.  Guests are INVITATION ONLY with permission from the House Manager and approval from housemates.  No one should feel uncomfortable in their own home.

All cooking and baking must be completed by 10:30pm and dishes cleaned for the evening. I.e. Kitchen is closed 10:30pm.

All Rx MUST be listed on the residents paperwork and checked in upon arrival.  Prescribed medications are to be self administered with only a two week supply available to the dancer at a time. Upon arrival all medication must be in the ORIGINAL labeled prescription container. Parents MUST UPDATE Rx list as necessary and refilled prescriptions must be checked into the house manager safe lock box.

Parents must notify the house manager of permission for dancer to stay out past curfew or to be away from the BBH overnight.

The resident should pick up all personal belongings from common living spaces daily. 

Residents must learn and abide by the Carlisle Borough recycling guidelines.

House manager must know at all times where the resident is meant to be if not at school or the ballet.  Texting or calling to update location if somewhere other than scheduled location is requested.  Residents having location active and visible on the phone app Life360 for the house manager is preferred. Residents may also write on kitchen white-board to notify House manager if leaving for short excursions. 

If a resident is missing ballet or school due to illness, the parent must let the House manager know.

Buddy system for walking is suggested after dusk.

No burning of candles,wax pots, diffusers, or incense unattended is allowed.  When in use, door to the room must be cracked open or left open if the resident leaves momentarily.  Any smells left unattended will have an automatic penalty of $100.

If there are problems within the household dynamics, please talk to the house manager FIRST. They will decide the next steps.  Next steps may include having a peer-to-peer conference with the house manager, talking with parents, or a household meeting as to be determined at the discretion of the house manager.

Any repairs noticed or needed should be brought to the attention of the house manager immediately via text including but not limited to damaged furniture, light bulbs out, drippy faucet etc.  Any damages beyond normal wear and tear will be taken out of your deposit.

NO FOOD ALLOWED IN BEDROOMS.

Any spoiled food disposed of in the trash must also be carried out to the outdoor bin within the hour. 

No bicycles allowed INSIDE the house. Bicycles can be stored in the shed during winter time upon request.

Residents are responsible for picking up after themselves. For example:

Keeping the bathroom neat and clean, clearing hair off shower walls or drains and taking toiletries to room or store on shelf in designated water proof tote

Turning off lights, air conditioners, heaters when you leave the room

Cleaning up after eating, cooking, or baking in the kitchen and dining room

Residents are NOT permitted to share their house lock code for safety reasons.

Residents will be gentle and kind to the house cat. If the resident does not want the cat to be in their personal room it is their responsibility to shut the door when leaving the house.  Having a pet for support and cuddles is a privilege and any violence or harm to the house cat is unacceptable.
